Born in Hudson, NY 1978, Briggs earned a BFA from SUNY Purchase and an MFA from MassArt. Boston based since 2003, he keeps a studio in the Atlantic Works building in East Boston.

Painting in a "pseudo pointillist" technique, the paintings can be described as Seurat interpretations of Rothko paintings. Meditative and abstract the work is also naturalistic.

Briggs is also a musician who plays with the instrumental band Nascent and works as a producer/engineer for other bands. The intersection of sound and images is important to both wings of his creative output with sound and music influencing the paintings directly.

Briggs' work has been exhibited regionally and nationally and is currently represented by Appleton Art Design.
